We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist t to support accounts payable operations for a business partner in Bradley, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position focuses on maintaining accurate invoice, expense, and payment processing while coordinating with suppliers, procurement, and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently. The role blends office coordination and financial administration in a hybrid environment, with three days onsite and two days remote. Success in this position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

• Track open accounts payable and procure-to-pay issues for assigned entities, document progress, and coordinate regular follow-ups to drive timely resolution.

• Respond to supplier and stakeholder concerns related to invoices and payments by working across departments to clear roadblocks and close outstanding items.

• Assist with supplier master data updates, including new vendor setup and account changes, while keeping stakeholders informed of status and expected completion dates.

• Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies, and take corrective action to maintain accurate account records.

• Monitor service levels and performance measures, identify recurring problem areas, and help implement improvements to consistently meet targets.

• Contribute to invoice management process activities, including support for OpenText-related workflows where needed.

• Partner with procurement and broader business teams to strengthen the end-to-end procure-to-pay process and improve coordination.

• Review goods received versus invoice received balances, prioritize aged items, and help drive resolution with relevant teams.

• Work with travel and expense support teams to address outstanding queries and ensure timely follow-up on payment-related matters.

• Handle additional administrative and financial support tasks as business needs require.

The salary range for this position is $23/hr to $26/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. • High school diploma required, with additional coursework in mathematics, accounting principles, or a related area preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable, including prior exposure to procure-to-pay activities in a comparable role.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to manage data accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail with proven planning and organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to manage several priorities at once and remain effective in a busy, fast-moving workplace.
• Sound judgment, initiative, and practical problem-solving skills when addressing invoice, payment, or supplier issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Team-oriented and adaptable approach, with flexibility to support changing priorities in a hybrid work setting.
