Commercial Relationship Specialist

Position Summary The Commercial Relationship Specialist provides administrative, production, portfolio management, and compliance support to Market Executives and Commercial Bankers. The specialist delivers exceptional customer experience, ensures adherence to standards and regulatory requirements, and handles loan closings, deposit account openings, collateral, and documentation, among other tasks. They actively listen to client needs, take ownership of issues, and maintain relationships and contact plans. They support bankers in expanding and retaining relationships through referrals and service delivery and collaborate with underwriters, analysts, risk management, and operations. Key Responsibilities Assist lenders with loan underwriting to ensure documents are accurate and timely. Assist lenders with loan documentation (excluding clean‑up) and provide administrative support. Help customers with general loan inquiries, including payment information. Understand loan packages to assist lenders with thoroughness and exception clearing. Assist with relationship summaries, customer exposure limits, and pulling credit reports. Have knowledge of commercial deposit cash‑management solutions to aid onboarding and servicing. Make necessary general ledger entries to assist customers with fund transfers or payments. Maintain confidential, time‑sensitive material. Help plan and organize various public‑relations projects. Track customer referral programs. Track employee referral and incentive programs, such as merchant services, insurance, and investments. Assist in the management of non‑interest income vendors. Coordinate with lenders throughout the loan origination process, including communication with lawyers. Coordinate portfolio management tasks such as maturing loans and servicing. When applicable, create CIF records and open deposit accounts. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Adhere to all bank policies and procedures, federal and state regulations and laws. Follow regulatory requirements including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC to deter money laundering or other unlawful activities. General Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years of secretarial or executive assistant experience preferred, preferably in a financial institution. Proficient typing, calculator, and word‑processing skills. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Organization and efficiency required; proficiency with Excel and Word needed. Knowledge of Jack Henry or similar platforms beneficial. Valid driver license in the state of residence. Physical Requirements Speak, type, and communicate via email and verbally. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds; mainly sedentary. Visual acuity for analyzing data, using a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Physical demands represent those that must be met to perform essential responsibilities.
