We offer care to children from 6 weeks to 4 years of age. At TLC, each child’s unique social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development is nurtured in a fun, loving, safe, creative learning environment. Teachers have the support of the Administrative team and are valued and appreciated.SEEKINGOur child care center seeks an energetic, nurturing, patient, reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Teacher. Qualities should include an optimistic attitude, the ability to remain calm & work well under pressure, a strong work ethic, flexibility, the ability to multitask, and a passion for working with young children. We are accepting resumes for positions in our 2 and 3 year old classrooms.QUALIFICATIONSAt least one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age, a high school diploma, and must be at least 18 years of age. Will need to provide a copy of all diplomas, degrees and relevant transcripts as proof of education.Optional/preferred: if hold a current CDA credential in infant/toddler or preschool age group.Optional/preferred: if have college credits in early childhood.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESAssistant teacher will assist the Lead Teacher with the following:Maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environmentImplementing daily classroom activitiesObserving and monitoring play activitiesHelping children to expand upon their play by engaging with them at their level.Keeping the classroom clean, organized, and in compliance with NYS RegulationsKnowing and ensuring that the NYS Regulations are followed at all times.Maintaining the required documentation as required by NYS regulations, including enforcing the Health Care Plan and ensuring we do not spread infectious disease.Using positive child guidance strategies and redirection as the means of behavior management. We use the pyramid model framework.Develop and maintain a healthy, cooperative relationship with the rest of the team (Lead Teacher, other Assistant Teachers, and Administration).Willingness to communicate with Staff and Administration any concerns or questions you may have regarding your job duties.SALARY$30,000 for a ten-month term of full-time employment (Sept-June)HOURSMon-Thurs 7:45AM-4:30PM, Fridays 7:45AM-1:15PM.BENEFITS37 paid holidays per school year (Sept - June)Shorter work days than most child care centers.Paid professional development. To allow for physical and visual contact with children on their level, squatting and frequent sitting on the floor are required. Have the ability to lift and carry children (up to 30 lbs) if necessary.
