responsibilities:
In this role, a typical day in the life will involve owning the operational excellence, governance, and reliability of our Azure ecosystem. You will:

• Administer the cloud tenant and subscriptions, managing management groups, RBAC, naming standards, tagging, and access reviews.
• Implement and maintain robust governance guardrails using Azure Policy and related controls, tracking exceptions and driving necessary remediation.
• Manage complex cloud networking environments, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables, firewalls, connectivity, private endpoints, and DNS.
• Operate core platform services such as virtual machines, storage, backup, patching, and availability configurations.
• Oversee comprehensive monitoring and logging systems using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, designing actionable dashboards and alerts.
• Support hybrid identity and access integrations via Entra ID, collaborating closely with on-premises identity owners.
• Partner with security teams on threat detection, vulnerability management workflows, and incident response.
• Drive cost optimization practices through diligent tagging compliance, consumption reviews, and strategic waste-reduction recommendations.
• Collaborate directly with application teams to safely onboard workloads utilizing secure-by-default patterns.
• Author and update clear operational documentation, standard runbooks, and configuration baselines.

qualifications:
Must-Haves

3+ years of professional experience administering Azure in production environments (or equivalent cloud administration experience with a strong, proven mastery of Azure).

Strong understanding of Azure IAM concepts, including RBAC, conditional access, and privileged access workflows.

Hands-on experience with Azure networking architecture and live connectivity troubleshooting.

Practical experience operating core compute and storage services, alongside establishing reliable backup and patching practices.

Experience handling monitoring, logging, and incident response in business-critical environments.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and produce clear operational runbooks.

Ability to work 100% onsite in the Westlake, OH area.

Nice-to-Haves

Active Azure Administrator certification (e.g., AZ-104).

Experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform) and managing CI/CD pipelines for cloud platform changes.

Hands-on experience with security tooling such as Defender for Cloud and log-based detections.

Background supporting PaaS services (e.g., App Services) and establishing workload onboarding standards.

Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell or Azure CLI to minimize operational toil
