IT Infrastructure Administrator
Overview

The client is seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator to oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of enterprise-level server and networking systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering hybrid Windows and Cisco environments, maintaining virtualized infrastructure, implementing best-in-class security controls, and driving system automation. Working closely with senior engineering and helpdesk teams, you will help maintain operational uptime, resolve escalated technical issues, and execute system modernization projects from conception to completion.
Core Responsibilities

• Server & Systems Administration: Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016+), Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365/Exchange, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise backup systems.
• Network Infrastructure: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco-based routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewall appliances across LAN/WAN environments.
• Virtualization & Storage: Manage and optimize virtual server environments utilizing VMware vSphere/ESXi (v8+) and oversee RAID/storage infrastructure performance.
• Security & Access Governance: Deploy enterprise endpoint security, enforce modern authentication protocols (SSO/MFA), audit system access privileges, and implement disaster recovery best practices.
• Automation & Process Improvement: Integrate script-based automation to streamline routine administrative tasks, update workflows, and enhance system compatibility.
• Escalation & Support: Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for helpdesk issues, diagnose hardware/software errors, and document resolution steps.
• Documentation & Compliance: Create and maintain technical spec sheets, network diagrams, and disaster recovery documentation; assist with technology cost analyses and capacity planning.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to support IT needs within office and regulated manufacturing (GMP) environments.

Key Qualifications

• Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in system and network administration within an enterprise environment.
• Windows & Cloud Systems: In-depth working knowledge of Windows Server OS (2016 and newer), Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Windows 10/11 client environments.
• Cisco Networking: Hands-on experience with Cisco-based routing, switching, wireless networking, IP protocols, and WAN/LAN management.
• Virtualization & Endpoint Security: Demonstrated experience managing VMware (vSphere 8 or similar) and enterprise-grade anti-virus/next-gen endpoint protection tools.
• Hardware & Telephony: Experience performing server/network hardware upgrades, rack-and-stack installations, and supporting enterprise IP telephony systems.
• Project Delivery: Proven track record of executing infrastructure projects from conception to completion with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Physical & Environmental Capability: Ability to lift and move hardware up to 25 lbs and work comfortably within both standard office and plant floor/GMP environments.
• Education: Associate degree in Computer Science or related technical field required (Bachelor's degree preferred), or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Certifications

• Server/Cloud: Microsoft MCSE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Server+, or A+.
• Networking: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or CompTIA Network+.
