Technical Writer - Remote / Telecommute

Job Title

Essential Functions:

• Writes, reviews, and edits user guides, test certification memos, reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, SOPs, job aids, and other operational documentation.
• Translates complex processes and systems into clear step-by-step instructions.
• Improves the quality, usability, and efficiency of existing documentation.
• Researches topics and interviews stakeholders to understand communication requirements.
• Analyzes business problems and recommends communication solutions.
• Uses provided tools and workflows to track documentation progress and ensure publication in learning management and governance tools.
• Communicates weekly with management through written and verbal status reports.
• Leads and participates in meetings supporting new products, initiatives, and operational workgroups.
• Provides subject matter expertise to support operational initiatives, including process and system impacts.
• Collaborates with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensures project documentation complies with legal, business, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience:

• Three years of technical writing or communications experience.

In Lieu of Education:

• Four additional years of relevant work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of call center operations, claims, enrollment, billing, and workflows.
• Knowledge of claims processing systems, including FEP Bridge, Facets, and NASCO.
• Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to analyze and solve a variety of problems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to use screen capture and editing software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in small teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Well organized and detail oriented.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified Technical Writer in Publications and Graphic Arts upon hire.
