Harold Washington College is currently seeking a part-time DualCredit Faculty to teach History, Criminal Justice, Business andEnglish to high school students. This position will teachMonday-Friday at a Chicago Public High School and will not be inperson at Harold Washington College. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design courses to meet learning outcomes, and promote students’active participation in their own learning. Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies. Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments toensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course. Help students reach their academic, personal and career goalsand foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of peopleand ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveyingconfidence in every student’s ability to learn. Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities, and promote collaboration andteamwork among members of these communities. QUALIFICATIONS Master’s Degree in discipline corresponding to the course beingtaught Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System,preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability tocommunicate with diverse group of staff and students required Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population isdesired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of thecommunity college.
