Medix has partnered with a premier, rapidly expanding manufacturer to recruit a strategic, highly experienced engineering leader for a Direct Hire opportunity. The Opportunity & Project Scope Driven by explosive organizational growth, this high-visibility role will lead a critical, multi-phase manufacturing expansion and site readiness initiative. You will step into a position elevated by a recent retirement and take immediate ownership of a major capital program. The Project: Overseeing the transformation of an existing 300,000 sq. ft. facility situated on 54 acres near Orangeburg, NY . The Phase: The facility currently utilizes 200,000 sq. ft. for warehousing. You will spearhead the build-out of the remaining 100,000 sq. ft. allocated for manufacturing—starting with an initial 50,000 sq. ft. activation phase. The Timeline: A structured 2-year timeline for the initial phase, evolving into a continuous, multi-year capacity improvement project adding advanced line centers and manufacturing capabilities. Future Scope: Beyond the initial launch, you will drive long-term strategic expansion across the entire 54-acre site and existing infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Portfolio & Site Leadership: Own the planning, execution, and integration of the expansion project, ensuring seamless transition from construction to stable, active production. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central pivot point working alongside 5 core internal pillars: Validation Engineering, Process Engineering, Plant Engineering/Maintenance, Operational Excellence (CI), and Infrastructure Improvement. Partner Management: Help select and oversee external partners, including construction management firms and equipment suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. Execution Oversight: Manage capital budgets, financial forecasts, risk mitigation strategies, and capital governance processes. This role has no direct reports initially but requires exceptional matrix leadership. Ideal Candidate Profile Education: Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering-related discipline is required. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a major plus. Capital Project Expertise: Proven track record managing CapEx portfolios with individual assets valued between $500K – $50M . Industry Background: Extensive experience in regulated, high-standard production environments such as Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Food & Beverage, Packaging, or Chemical Manufacturing . Technical Familiarity: Experience with high-speed converting machinery, liquid/solid manufacturing, and sterile manufacturing environments . (A key component of this project will be developing a variety of ISO-classified clean rooms ). Leadership Style: Exceptional ability to influence without direct authority and successfully lead cross-functional internal teams and external contractors. Compensation & Location Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 base (depending on experience) + performance bonus. Relocation: Local candidates are strongly preferred as there is no formal relocation program.
