About the Company Our client is a rapidly growing private equity-backed organization with operations throughout the Southeast, including Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina. As the company continues to expand through both organic growth and acquisitions, they are seeking a high-caliber Assistant Controller to join their finance leadership team. Position Summary The Assistant Controller will partner closely with the Controller and CFO to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen internal controls, and support the company\'s continued growth. This individual will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and integrating newly acquired businesses while helping build scalable accounting processes. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Support consolidation of multiple business entities across several states. Help develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Partner with operations and executive leadership to improve financial reporting and business performance. Support external audits, tax compliance, and lender reporting. Participate in acquisition integration efforts and process improvement initiatives. Mentor and develop members of the accounting team. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting as needed. Drive automation and continuous improvement across accounting functions. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA strongly preferred. 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting experience is highly desirable. Previous experience with a private equity-backed company is a significant plus. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting. Experience managing multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments. ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
