Assistant Director of Human ResourcesThe Assistant Director of Human Resources serves as the operational leader of the Human Resources Department, providing leadership and oversight of daily HR functions that support a high-performing workforce across the district. This position partners closely with district and school leaders to advance employee relations, staffing, labor relations, workplace investigations, compliance, performance management, and talent development strategies. Join our Human Resources leadership team and help build a workplace where employees thrive, leaders grow, and students succeed.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the daily operations and service delivery of the Human Resources Department.Supervise and support Human Resources staff while promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.Serve as a trusted advisor to administrators on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, and personnel practices.Provide leadership in staffing, recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.Administer and interpret labor agreements, assist with grievance management, and support labor-management collaboration.Develop and deliver training for administrators on employee relations, investigations, supervision, and personnel management.Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, equity, and exceptional customer service.QualificationsThorough knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and employment law.Knowledge of employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, and labor relations.Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and contract administration.Ability to interpret laws, regulations, policies, and negotiated agreements.Ability to build collaborative working relationships and resolve conflict effectively.Ability to conduct complex investigations and provide sound recommendations.Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities.Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.Commitment to equitable employment practices and high-quality customer service.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.Five (5) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.Three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience.Experience in employee relations, labor relations, investigations, personnel administration, or related Human Resources functions.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Human Resources, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.Human Resources leadership experience in a K-12 school district or public-sector organization.Experience conducting workplace investigations.Experience administering collective bargaining agreements.Experience supervising Human Resources staff.SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or comparable professional certification.Experience working within an HR Business Partner model.
