Position Summary

The Senior Design Engineer will lead the design and development of customized off-highway and heavy-equipment products from concept through production. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical design engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, working closely with customers and manufacturing teams, and turning innovative concepts into practical, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design customized heavy-equipment and off-highway solutions using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD .
• Work directly with customers to understand applications, operating environments, performance requirements, and equipment needs.
• Collaborate closely with Production and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable.
• Develop and improve existing products through engineering analysis, innovation, and new technologies.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Perform load-profile assessments, engineering calculations, and simulations to validate designs.
• Review and approve engineering drawings created by other designers.
• Support Sales by developing proposal and concept drawings for prospective customers.
• Participate in research and development initiatives, including technical documentation and patent-related projects.
• Utilize advanced measurement technologies, including LIDAR , to capture accurate field data when required.
• Mentor and support other engineers while contributing to engineering standards, design practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage multiple engineering projects while maintaining strong attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD , preferably Autodesk Inventor , along with AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, engineering, production, and other cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
• P.E. license or active pursuit of licensure is preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment, mining equipment, off-highway equipment, or large fabricated products is a plus.
• Experience working directly with manufacturing and production teams is highly valued.
