Make a difference in the lives of students through this rewarding, full-time contract position supporting autistic students in an engaging elementary school setting. As a Paraprofessional specializing in personal care assistance, you’ll collaborate directly with educators to provide essential support that empowers students to thrive academically and personally.
Key Qualities and Experience:
- Previous experience in school-based paraprofessional or personal care roles preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification highly desirable, or willingness to secure certification within the first 10 school days
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training preferred—training provided as needed shortly after hire
- Reliable and punctual with a genuine, student-centered approach
- Adaptable, flexible, and receptive to direction from teaching staff
- Commitment to personal care, safety, and behavioral support for students with autism
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day direct support to students with autism, including personal care and behavioral assistance
- Work under the guidance and supervision of classroom teachers and special educators
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment tailored to individual student needs
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize positive behavior support strategies in managing classroom dynamics
- Ensure clear communication with staff and follow all school and district protocols
