Plate Roll Operator

We are looking for a Plate Roll Operator with experience using a plate rolling machine to roll flat plate into arcs, cylinders, or cones. This role requires a driven self starter who is motivated to perform quality work and contribute to the team atmosphere at Linders. Position Title: Plate Roll Operator Classification: Non-exempt (hourly) Reports to: Production Manager. Job Type: Full Time 40 hours per week Summary: Linders Specialty Company, Inc. is a custom metal fabricator specializing in roll bending and custom fabrication of steel, stainless steel and aluminum using our multiple roll bending processes and specialty equipment. We will not interview candidates without previous plate rolling experience. Responsibilities Setup and operate plate rolling machine to produce parts per print and within tolerance Read and interpret blueprints including dimensions and tolerances Use measurement tools to inspect parts and verify quality standards are met Clean machine and work area as necessary during and at the end of each shift Use ERP system to clock-in, clock-out, record job times and quantities, etc. Verify material specifications and type before starting rolling operations Works with department lead to perform and schedule service and repair of plate rolling machine Required Qualifications 1 year of experience operating a plate rolling machine Prior experience in a metal fabrication environment Working Knowledge of mathematics Mechanical aptitude Willingness to learn Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience operating a plate rolling machine Experience with overhead cranes, hoists, jibs and other lifting equipment 5+ years of experience in a metal fabrication environment Proficiency in MIG welding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum Understanding of welding processes and materials Experience with other fabrication machinery including brake press, shear, plate roller Work Environment This position works in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment where exposure to industrial conditions is common. The work environment typically includes: Operation in a metal fabrication shop with exposure to machinery, moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment Regular exposure to loud noise levels requiring hearing protection Exposure to dust, metal shavings, lubricants, oils, and occasionally welding fumes or mist Varying indoor temperatures depending on season, weather, and shop ventilation Standing and working near large forming equipment with pinch points and rotating components Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
