Senior Principal Product Manager

Role Description Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. This is a 0-to-1 role. You will define the product strategy and own the roadmap for a new platform that sits at the intersection of AI, containers, and developer experience. You will work with a small, high-velocity team spanning engineering, design, and go-to-market to figure out what to build, ship it, learn from it, and iterate. Own the product strategy. Define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for Docker’s AI & Agent Platform. Build from zero — writing the first specs, prototyping with engineering, validating with customers, and iterating rapidly. Drive from conception through delivery — write requirements, work with engineering to scope and prioritize, ship iteratively, and measure outcomes. Define how pieces of the agentic ecosystem fit together. Think beyond developers — ensure the platform serves the full range of people who need agents to succeed. Define the developer experience — work with design and engineering to ensure AI products are intuitive and powerful. Collaborate across Docker — work cross-functionally to ensure coherent product experiences and go-to-market alignment. Influence technical direction — partner with engineering leadership on architecture decisions. Represent the customer — engage directly with developers, enterprises, and partners. Overcome blockers — figure out a path forward when challenges arise. Qualifications 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years on developer tools, infrastructure, or platform products. Deep technical fluency — able to read architecture diagrams and understand container and VM runtimes. Proven ability to ship 0-to-1 products — experience taking a product from idea through launch. Builder mentality — prototype, sketch architectures, and test early ideas with customers. Strong product sense and UX instincts — care about the developer experience at a deep level. Strategic thinking with execution follow-through — set a multi-year vision and write specs for immediate shipping. Comfort with ambiguity — thrive when the answer isn’t obvious. Excellent communication — able to write product briefs, present to executives, and debate technical tradeoffs. Experience growing and monetizing products at scale — understand pricing, packaging, and go-to-market decisions. Bonus Points Experience building products in the containers, cloud-native, or DevOps space. Experience with AI/ML developer tooling or the agentic AI ecosystem. Contributions to open source projects. Experience building and scaling a business from zero to significant ARR. What You’ll Work With We are building a new platform for agentic development.
