Job Title: Employee Relations Partner Location: Augusta University Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 299567 About the Organization Augusta University is a public university in Augusta, Georgia focused on research and education in health care and other fields. Job Summary This position serves as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert in employee relations workplace matters, fostering a positive academic environment by providing guidance on employee relation matters, conflict resolution, performance management, and compliance with institutional and legal standards. Responsibilities Advisory Services — Serve as a trusted advisor to campus employees and academic leadership on workplace concerns, policies, and employee matters; provide guidance on performance management, professional development, and accommodations. Conflict Resolution & Investigation — Mediate disputes, conduct impartial investigations of complaints and policy violations, and coordinate with legal counsel. Policy Interpretation & Compliance — Ensure institutional policies align with labor laws and accreditation standards, review and update policies, and provide training to administrators. Performance & Conduct Management — Advise on performance concerns, develop improvement plans, and guide leaders in handling misconduct. Collaboration — Partner with supervisors and HR leaders to align strategies, cultivate rapport, and maintain productive relationships. Data & Reporting — Prepare monthly statistics, summary reports, and maintain accurate records of investigations. Training & Development — Schedule and deliver training sessions on employee relations topics. Committee Representation — Represent the institution in employee–related discussions, committees, and advisory groups. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. At least two years of Employee Relations experience or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field. SHRM‑CP certification. Minimum of four years of experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software/databases. Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact with all levels. Knowledge of Titles VI, VII, IX, ADA, complaint resolution, and HR employment functions. Ability to conduct training programs and present complex issues to diverse audiences. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational, investigative, negotiation, and multi‑tasking skills. Shift, Salary & Benefits Shift: Daily Monday‑Friday, with occasional work outside normal business hours. Salary band: B12, starting at $62,300 annually. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, retirement, vacation, sick leave, 13 paid holidays, and tuition assistance after six months of employment. Conditions of Employment Successful background check required. Credit check may be required for trust positions or purchase card usage. Motor vehicle reports required for positions that require driving a university vehicle. Faculty hires must provide proof of completed degree and transcripts.
