About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Technology for its Individual Solutions team. This role is pivotal in shaping the business from an early stage, with a focus on building an innovative wealth management technology platform and a top talent engineering organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the technology strategy, leading engineering, and ensuring end-to-end delivery across a federated enterprise. This demanding and pioneering work requires a leader who can operate within a dual reporting structure and is adept at delivering technology in a regulated or complex operating environment. The Head of Technology will also be accountable for production, building data and AI capabilities, and shaping the technology organization to meet the company's mission of making financial security accessible to all. Applicants for the Head of Technology position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 15 years of experience in technology leadership, with a strong technical foundation and executive experience in leading engineering organizations. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in software engineering, platform engineering, or architecture, and the ability to balance customer value, speed, security, reliability, cost, and long-term sustainability. Experience in building or operating highly available, customer-critical technology, and a background in financial services, particularly in wealth management, retirement, or banking, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a startup mentality, be obsessed with improved client and organizational outcomes, and be capable of making strong build, buy, and partner decisions to shape the technology investment.
