Senior System Administrator

Senior Systems Administrator | Houston, TX | Insurance | Up to $130,000 Base + Bonus An established insurance firm based in Houston, Texas is looking to hire a Senior Systems Administrator to join its internal IT team. This is a senior-level infrastructure position within a technically diverse environment, supporting critical enterprise systems across virtualisation, Windows infrastructure, storage, backup and automation. The successful candidate will act as a senior escalation point while taking ownership of infrastructure stability, service improvements, disaster recovery and ongoing operational support. The Role Support and maintain enterprise infrastructure and systems Perform scheduled system checks and proactive maintenance Identify and implement infrastructure and service improvements Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues Support planned and unplanned disaster recovery activities Assist with capacity management and infrastructure planning Liaise with third-party technology providers and internal stakeholders Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues Contribute to automation and service optimisation initiatives Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation Support early/late operational coverage when required What We're Looking For Strong experience in 3rd-line / senior systems administration Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience, including Windows Servers & Systems, Active Directory and Exchange Hands-on experience with VMware or Hyper-V Experience with storage and backup technologies Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills A solid background supporting enterprise infrastructure Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities Experience working with third-party vendors A proactive approach to infrastructure improvement and automation The ability to work independently while collaborating with wider IT teams Willingness to participate in an on-call rota Package & Working Arrangement Salary: Up to $130,000 base Bonus: Annual performance bonus Working pattern: 4 days in office / 1 day remote On-call: Approximately 1 week in 6 #J-18808-Ljbffr Intec Select
