Associate Executive Director

Job Description About the RoleThe Associate Executive Director is responsible for leading center operations, including program development, membership growth, staff supervision, marketing, community engagement, and strategic initiatives. This role provides leadership to Program Directors and positions the YMCA as a vital community asset supporting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
This is a highimpact leadership role requiring strong operational management, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire teams while advancing the YMCA mission. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience
- Ability to develop and maintain highquality programs
- Strong organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills
- Knowledge of fiscal management, program planning, member services, sales, personnel management, training, public relations, and fundraising
- Completion of all positionspecific YMCA training within established deadlines
- Emergency Response Leadership - Designated as a First Responder in emergencies.
- Budget Management - Manages center budget, income targets, and expense control in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Staff Supervision - Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates Program Directors and center staff.
- Strategic Leadership - Sets and communicates a clear vision aligned with YMCA mission and goals.
- Program Evaluation - Evaluates existing programs and leads development of new initiatives aligned with strategic priorities.
- Youth & Member Engagement - Provides leadership for youth, teen, outreach, and member engagement/retention initiatives.
- Policy & Committee Leadership - Guides program development, policies, and committees to align with center and association goals.
- Marketing & Public Relations - Supports strategic planning, marketing, public relations, and promotional efforts.
- Community Engagement - Leads annual campaign efforts and builds community partnerships and events.
- Facility Operations - Oversees scheduling, equipment, and financial assistance processes.
- Staff Development - Ensures staff development, reporting, administration, and integration of YMCA core values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support YMCA mission and operations.
- Effective planning, promotion, and achievement of program goals
- Strong fiscal management with income growth and expense control
- Continued growth in budget, membership, and program enrollment
- Highquality, innovative programming
- High levels of member and participant satisfaction
- Annual development of new initiatives
