Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Orthopedic)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
• Manage a diverse patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, DVT, PE, and chest pain
• Assist with and monitor special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care (radial and femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT angiography, and Heparin drips
• Support integrated pain management, physical therapy coordination, and patient mobility initiatives
• Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas within documented competencies
• Complete required pre-assignment modules and annual compliance requirements prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate compact license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in an orthopedic or Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated orthopedic nursing experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-surgical spinal patients including pain management and early mobility protocols
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient management in a Med/Surg environment
• Experience with Heparin drip management and post-procedural cath care
