Job Title: CNC Mill Set-up Technician
Job Description
Seeking a skilled CNC Mill Set-up Technician for both Day Shift (7am-3:30pm) and Swing Shift (3pm-11:30pm). The ideal candidate will possess a strong experience in CNC Mill Machining, ranging from intermediate to journeyman level. Our facility offers a dynamic environment where precision machining and adherence to established processes are paramount.
Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and machining centers to fabricate precision machined metallic and non-metallic parts.
• Specialize in setting up mill turn sub spindle live tooling lathes with minimal or no supervision from start to finish.
• Collaborate closely with Programming and Manufacturing Manager to provide feedback on cycle time reduction and machine optimization.
• Provide guidance and instruct other machine operators and machinists as assigned.
• Ensure efficient production, on-time delivery, and that quality of products meets customer specifications.
• Review and study CAD drawings, models, blueprints, and other technical documents to prepare for machining operations.
• Select, align, and secure work holding/fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjusting machine controls as required.
• Submit 1st Piece Article to the Inspection Department for verification.
• Monitor and maintain machine coolants, lubricants, and other essential fluids.

Essential Skills

• Intermediate to journeyman level CNC Mill Machining experience.
• Experience with vertical and horizontal milling.
• Ability to follow established processes and adapt to new procedures.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documents.
• Familiarity with G&M codes, Mazak, and Fanuc systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis CNC Mills and knowledge of Mastercam.
• Understanding of Renishaw probe systems.
• Experience with Mazak CNCs is a plus.
• Willingness to consider candidates with only 4-axis experience.

Work Environment
Our clean machining facility houses over 10 CNCs, with more under construction, including a clean room and QC area. The environment encourages collaboration among a team of 5 programmers and machinists, fostering a supportive and innovative workplace.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TUALATIN, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
