Associate Attorney - Corporate

Corporate Associate AttorneyHarris Beach Murtha seeks an associate-level attorney to join our growing state-wide Corporate Practice Group.The Corporate Associate will have the opportunity to:Draft, review and negotiate various transactional agreements, shareholders agreements, operating agreements and buy-sell agreements, contracts, financing documents and other corporate documentsStructure, negotiate and close mergers and acquisitions, asset and stock purchase and sale transactions and private equity transactionsAdvise clients on legal issues related to formation, operation and expansion of businesses and succession planningInteract with clients to service existing work and to grow and maintain relationshipsCollaborate with colleagues across various practice groups to provide comprehensive legal support to our clientsThe firm requires a minimum of 1800 billable hours annuallyApplications are encouraged and desired if you have:3-7+ years' experience in general corporate, business succession planning, and mergers and acquisitionsAdmission to New York requiredMust have Juris Doctorate degree with an ABA accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the New York State BarMust have excellent research and writing skillsMust be able to effectively communicate orally and in writingMust be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environmentExhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibilityAbility to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organizationMilitary experience welcomeHarris Beach Murtha is committed to an inclusive environment and we welcome applications from diverse candidates with varied background and skills, including military experience.
