Job Description

The Procurement Administrator supports purchasing operations during a period of organizational growth and process improvement. This role serves as a key liaison between internal teams and vendors, ensuring material availability, accurate purchasing data, and timely supplier communication while contributing to ongoing ERP and workflow enhancement initiatives. The position is ideal for someone with manufacturing experience who can balance detailed administrative work with proactive follow-up on purchasing deadlines and supplier commitments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update purchasing, vendor, and inventory data within the company ERP systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of information.

• Perform high-volume data entry to support purchasing process improvements and ERP-related initiatives.

• Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding purchase orders, lead times, delivery schedules, and overall order status.

• Follow up with vendors to confirm commitments and ensure purchasing and delivery deadlines are met.

• Escalate supply chain issues and proactively address delays that could impact production schedules and material availability.

• Assist with physical inventory counts, inventory organization, and product labeling activities to support accurate stock control.

• Support purchasing and supply chain teams with administrative reporting and documentation, and maintain vendor information, pricing, and purchasing records.

• Collaborate with finance, operations, and production teams to improve purchasing workflows and material planning processes.

• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve visibility into future material requirements and purchasing needs.

• Use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to create, update, and analyze purchasing and inventory data.

• Contribute to ERP system utilization and optimization, helping align purchasing activities with broader process improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement administration, supply chain, inventory control, or a related administrative role.

• Experience working directly with vendors and suppliers, including managing ongoing relationships and communications.

• Strong data entry and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Comfort communicating with vendors and professionally holding suppliers accountable to commitments and timelines.

• Experience using ERP systems, particularly large ERP platforms, is preferred.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States and meet ITAR requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, with aerospace manufacturing experience highly preferred.

• Familiarity with purchase order processing and procurement workflows.

• Knowledge of or experience with JobBOSS, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP and accounting systems is a plus.

• Strong collaboration skills with finance, operations, production, and supply chain teams.

• Demonstrated ability to support process improvement initiatives related to purchasing and ERP usage.

Work Environment

This is an in-office role working Monday through Friday in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position is closely integrated with purchasing, supply chain, finance, operations, and production teams, and involves regular interaction with vendors and suppliers. Work is primarily performed in an office setting using ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications, with occasional time spent in inventory or production areas to support physical counts and material organization.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
