Manager, Production Equipment Tech Support

Job Location South Windsor, Connecticut Overview Manager, Production Maintenance Support – lead Tech Support and Production Operations teams to maximize productivity, efficiency, quality, and associate engagement. Job Responsibilities Drive a culture of care and continuous improvement as the site representative for Production Equipment Technical Support. Maintain and optimize communication with operations partners, management, staff, and peers. Effectively address personnel issues and ensure staff utilization to optimize team performance. Provide ongoing feedback through team and one‑to‑one discussions, including periodic performance reviews. Ensure department personnel receive proper training/cross‑training, and develop certification processes. Support machine operator training in collaboration with Production Operations Management. Coordinate training sessions with national internal and external resources, including vendors. Provide direction and support to production mechanics. Monitor work in progress to maintain a constant production workflow and complete equipment repairs timely. Ensure staff accurately use the call‑light monitoring system(s) to track service requests and performance. Leverage database/system reports for scheduling, staffing, training, and procedural adjustments. Identify and implement process improvements to drive productivity, efficiency, and quality. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules with the Vice President and vendors. Monitor preventive maintenance records and ensure adherence to scheduled deadlines. Stay informed of new technology and equipment, and develop technical skills for support. Assume all management responsibilities in the Department VP’s absence. Meet or exceed KPIs (Efficiency, Uptime, Response & Wrench Time). Optimize parts inventory levels and costs, monitoring and reporting valuations bi‑weekly/monthly. Perform additional duties or responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications At least 5years of production operations, manufacturing, or related experience, preferably in a management capacity. Proven leadership skills, able to lead courageously and develop associates to maximize their potential. Strong PC and systems skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio). Strong analytical skills and ability to work with budgets and analyze data to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality. Strong project‑management skills and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and adaptability to all levels of the organization. Strong technical/mechanical skills (electrical/mechanical and electronics repair) are a plus. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Bachelor’s Degree is a plus. Shift Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (weekends and holidays as needed). Salary $100,000.00 to $110,000.00 depending on experience – bonus eligible.
