Medical Office Assistant

2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants We are seeking a dependable Office Assistant / Medical Assistant to work directly with the physician and help ensure smooth daily operations of the clinic. This role combines patient-facing responsibilities, clinical support, and general office maintenance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing clinical and administrative duties to keep the practice running efficiently. Key Responsibilities Patient & Clinical Support Greet patients, manage check-in/out, and assist with patient communications Take vitals, perform EKGs, collect specimens, vision/hearing screenings, and assist during exams and procedures (training provided as needed) Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and equipment, ensuring compliance with clinic standards Office & Administrative Duties Work directly with the physician to support daily clinic needs Manage appointment scheduling, phone calls, and documentation Handle workers’ compensation forms and insurance verification Order supplies, track inventory, and ensure the office is well-stocked Assist with general office maintenance and organization Perform occasional administrative tasks such as mailing, filing, and errands Qualifications Prior medical office or medical assisting experience preferred Comfortable performing both administrative and clinical duties Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through Proficient with computers and electronic health records Professional, compassionate, and reliable Schedule & Compensation Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Competitive hourly pay based on experience Training provided for specialized clinic procedures Seniority level Seniority level Entry level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Health Care Provider Industries Medical Practices Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Peninsula Medical Associates by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for “Medical Office Assistant” roles.
