Ensemble, a leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions, is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support uninsured and under‑insured patients at Ardent – UT Health Jacksonville in Jacksonville, TX. Key Responsibilities Interview patients to determine eligibility for state Medicaid and other financial assistance programs. Assist with application processes to facilitate accurate and appropriate submissions. Follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing or adjustment processing. Review all referred patients for program eligibility and coordinate the application process. Effectively communicate with patients to obtain required documents for the application. Track submitted applications to the determination point, updating insurance information and ensuring timely billing or adjustment posting. Document all actions and communications in assigned patient accounting systems. Maintain knowledge of all state and federal program requirements and share information with colleagues and supervisors. Develop and maintain proactive relationships with county, state, and federal Medicaid caseworkers, and collaborate with other revenue cycle departments. Perform other duties as assigned. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $18.65 – $20.50, based on experience. Bonus incentives, paid certifications, tuition reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits. Opportunities for career advancement. Employment Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues. Understanding of revenue cycle processes (admission, billing, payments, denials). Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance processes for authorizations and benefits verification. Knowledge of health insurance requirements and medical terminology, CPT, or procedure codes. Experience in patient access, managed‑care/insurance, or call center environments preferred. Inquisitive with openness to innovation, including AI, to improve processes and patient experience. Minimum Education & Certifications High School Diploma or GED required; post‑secondary education may be considered in lieu of a degree. CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire.
