Responsibilities

• Oversee the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and facilitate communities of practice throughout Equinix
• Provide technical leadership, best practices, research and support, mentoring, and coaching for all staff
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation leveraging a matrixed organization
• Help set and manage the global vision and strategy for cloud architecture, security, development, site reliability, and operations
• Proactively manage team demand/capacity in consultation with PMO, IT management, Product management, Enterprise Architecture, and rest of leadership team
• Provide cloud management services such as strategy, approaches, best practices, and procedures across the organization
• Champion the Infrastructure as Code transition
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Finance, and engineering teams, among others, to develop the global cloud strategy
• Empower product teams to reliably develop for the cloud at a fast pace
• Build a cloud team of experts to evangelize for a highly available, reliable, and secure cloud platform
• Guide cloud investment decisions to innovate for value
• Advise on cloud KPIs, metrics, and SLAs to measure cost, performance, and support baselines and track against standards and business requirements
• Operationalize consistent cloud migration procedures
• Support cloud security and compliance governance
• Manage knowledgebase for cloud best practices, standards, training material, etc.
• Maintain tool kit / library of standard tools
• Liaise with external vendors to accomplish cloud design, development, and operations goals
• Continuously develop and improve services offered by the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE)
• Identify opportunities for cloud efficiency enhancements across the organization

Qualifications


The high global exposure and fast pace in this position requires an executive with proven technology operations background with extensive experience with cloud-based platforms. The CCoE leader needs to possess a high level of business and tech acumen to provide strategic and tactical guidance.

• MBA or MS in CS related field preferred
• 10+ years of managerial experience in a technological role
• 10+ years of experience in an operational, management, or services delivery role (Ideally for a Managed Services Provider, Cloud Hosting, or Telecom company)
• 5+ years of experience in leadership roles with proven track record
• 5+ years Hands-on experience in 24x7x365 cloud operations
• Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history driving process, operational efficiencies, and best practices across cross functional teams
• Exceptional project management and organization skills with ability to manage across several initiatives
• Knowledgeable in how to implement PCI, Data Sovereignty, Privacy, Security, and other compliance considerations in a cloud environment
• Experience integrating with 3rd party service platforms
• Experience building and growing a team
