Mechanical Assistant Superintendent

Keeley Construction is looking to hire a Mechanical Assistant Superintendent to join our team in Austin, TX. Key Responsibilities Assist the Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and executing water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects. Support daily jobsite operations, including subcontractor coordination, crew activities, material deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics. Assist with utility installations, process piping, mechanical systems, and equipment setting. Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to support project schedules, manpower planning, production goals, and work sequencing. Monitor daily field activities and help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards. Serve as a field representative of Keeley Construction, interacting professionally with clients, inspectors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents to support field execution. Promote and enforce Keeley Construction's safety culture and OSHA regulations. Participate in daily safety meetings, inspections, and jobsite hazard assessments. Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation. Support the procurement, delivery, and inventory control of project materials and equipment. Assist with startup, testing, punch list, and project closeout activities. Foster a positive and productive jobsite environment while demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow within the organization. Complete all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; 1–3 years of construction experience is preferred. Experience in civil construction, utilities, concrete, or water/wastewater projects is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong interest in construction operations and field leadership. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. OSHA 30 certification and Procore experience are a plus. Valid driver's license required. Ability to travel to project sites 3–4 days per week as needed. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical jobsite duties. All candidates must successfully complete a selection assessment and pre‑employment drug screen.
