Travel RN Job Details

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg Telemetry
• Location: Aurora, Colorado, near the greater Denver metro area
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: Nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Population: Adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Typical Ratios: Approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients on days and 1 nurse to 5 patients on nights; ratios may flex based on staffing and unit needs
• Charting: Epic electronic health record (EHR)
• Weekend Requirement: A minimum of 6–8 weekend shifts during a six-week scheduling period
• Call: Not required
• Float: May float within scope based on census and staffing needs
• Unit Environment: Approximately 16 beds with centralized telemetry support, including continuous telemetry, capnography, and pulse oximetry
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Med-Surg Telemetry RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Colorado
• At least 2 years of recent acute-care nursing experience
• Previous medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with electronic health record documentation; Epic experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts and meet the weekend coverage requirement
• Comfort working with flexible nurse-to-patient ratios and floating to comparable units when needed
• Demonstrated competency with telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central lines, PICC lines, blood products, chest tubes, wound care, drains, oxygen delivery, and rapid-response procedures

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other vital parameters using centralized telemetry systems
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications, IV therapies, insulin protocols, blood products, and other treatments according to established standards
• Manage peripheral and central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, surgical drains, chest tubes, urinary catheters, and wound therapy equipment
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly initiate appropriate interventions, including use of rapid-response and code teams
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary partners, including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, and interpretation services
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
• Float within scope of practice to support patient care needs across comparable units
