Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Aurora, Colorado 80045
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts; days, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Scheduling: Various days of the week, including weekend coverage based on unit needs; approximately six weekend shifts during the assignment
• Call: Not required
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Unit Environment: High-acuity surgical and telemetry unit with typical ratios of 1:4–5; transplant patients may be cared for at 1:2–3 ratios
• Documentation: Epic
• Orientation: 72 hours, including required assignment-specific learning modules during the first week
• Uniform: Navy scrubs

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent acute-care nursing experience in a high-acuity medical-surgical or telemetry setting
• Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a compact state
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• CPI certification, as required by unit policy
• Previous experience caring for telemetry, surgical, transplant, hepatology, or thoracic surgery patients strongly preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Must be comfortable with rotating day/night assignments, weekend coverage, flexible staffing ratios, and floating within scope to comparable units or locations when needed
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients recovering from solid-organ transplant, thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary procedures, and complex medical conditions.
• Care for patients with diagnoses including end-stage renal disease, end-stage liver disease, thoracic and liver cancers, lung disease, organ rejection, infections, diabetes, hypertension, and urinary tract infections.
• Monitor telemetry and capnography, interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases, and promptly identify changes in patient condition.
• Manage central and peripheral lines, ports, PICC lines, chest tubes, abdominal drains, wound vacs, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Administer medications, blood products, insulin and heparin therapies, oxygen, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and other prescribed treatments.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for thoracic surgery patients, including patients undergoing lobectomies, wedge resections, lung procedures, and esophagectomies.
• Support pre- and post-hemodialysis care and the management of patients with renal or hepatic complications.
• Use rapid response and code team resources appropriately while maintaining patient safety in a high-acuity environment.
• Collaborate with providers, transplant and specialty teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic while educating patients and families throughout the plan of care.
