Job Description

About the role

An HVAC installer is responsible for assembling, setting up, and testing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment in residential and commercial buildings. They ensure these systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and local building codes.

Job type: Full-time; temp to hire

Work hours: Monday – Friday: TBD

***Saturday availability as needed

Pay: $27.43 – $30 (commensurate with experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Field based (driver’s license/car required)

Responsibilities:

Perform installation of residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
Support equipment setup, including unloading, staging, and positioning HVAC units and materials at job sites.
Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal and duct systems according to project specifications.
Assist in brazing, soldering, and connecting refrigerant piping (as skill level progresses).
Maintain proper handling and charging of refrigerants in compliance with EPA guidelines (as trained/certified).
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for installation tasks.
Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Follow local building codes, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards.
Perform basic system checks and assist with startup and testing of installed HVAC systems.
Be prepared to learn HVAC fundamentals, installation techniques, and industry best practices on the job.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent years of work experience

• 3+ years experience in HVAC equipment residential/commercial maintenance and repair

• Know how to troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and at customer locations, and handle the repairs

• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 50 lbs.
