Manual MachinistSTS Aerospace is looking for a Manual Machinist that sets up and operates conventional machines to fabricate metallic parts by performing the following duties.Responsibilities:Studies blueprints, job plans and/or work instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers for complex jobs.Design and produce quality fixtures and tooling.Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.Deburr complex parts.Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data for experimental jobs.Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.Single point I.D. and O.D. threads using manual lathes.Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.Own tools and measuring equipment needed to assure parts are made to the proper dimensions.QualificationsAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to communicate effectively with team membersAbility to operate machine equipment according to job instructions or training.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
