Reports To: Coordinator for Transportation

Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Hourly Range: $13.25 - $18.29 Minimum - Maximum
Pay Grade: AU-01
Primary Purpose: To give assistance to handicapped children so they may take full advantage of the instructional and related programs of the District.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED certificate required
- Special Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for the work to be performed
- CPR & First Aid certified preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the safety of handicapped children.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of handicapped students.
- Follows mandated child restrain procedures to ensure children are properly positioned and restrained (Booster seats, seat belts, and wheelchairs).
- Assist the bus driver in any emergency situations.to include evacuation if necessary.
- Administer first aid or CPR to students as needed.
- Assist students as needed to the school building and homes and ensure they are received by authorized individuals only.
- Assist in completing incident or accident reports, when necessary or appropriate.
- Assures the bus driver is not distracted from the safe operation of the vehicle.
- Reports any traffic violation incurred by the driver to the immediate supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining the interior of the bus in a clean and safe operating condition.
- Assures that no child is left behind or left unsupervised on the bus.
- Attends all staff meetings, team meetings, and trainings as requested
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others
- Perform other duties as assigned.
