Our client, a stylish rooftop restaurant in St Paul’s Bay, is seeking a passionate and hands-on Head Chef to lead the kitchen operations of a small restaurant with approximately 50 covers .
The successful candidate will oversee the full kitchen operation, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, hygiene, and service while contributing creatively to menu development and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth service.
- Develop and execute menus in line with the restaurant’s concept and standards.
- Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented consistently to high standards.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, food cost control, and waste management.
- Maintain full compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Coordinate closely with front-of-house staff to ensure an excellent dining experience.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards in all kitchen areas.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements and culinary creativity.
Requirements
- Candidates must be residing in Malta .
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership and kitchen management skills.
- Passion for Mediterranean and contemporary cuisine.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail and presentation.
