Plant Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforc's client, a financially strong and growing manufacturing organization located in the Columbus, OH area, is seeking a Plant Accountant to join its finance team. This position offers broad exposure to plant accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and operational finance. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment while partnering closely with operations and plant leadership to support business performance and continuous improvement. • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare financial reports and analyze operational and financial variances
• Maintain accurate cost, production, and inventory data
• Assist with standard cost maintenance and inventory valuation processes
• Analyze manufacturing, labor, material, and overhead variances
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and plant cost control initiatives
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing, collections, and vendor support
• Monitor cash flow metrics and working capital performance
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Partner with plant management and cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and support operational decision-making

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred but not required
• 2-6 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP, and AR
• Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting best practices
• ERP system experience required; Oracle experience is a plus
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
