Work Environment

This role will take place in our outpatient facility, which provides a supportive and collaborative environment. The clinic operates Monday to Friday, enabling a structured schedule that supports work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Encompass Rehabilitation Center, you will play a crucial role in:

• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patients' specific diagnoses and functional assessments.
• Conducting thorough evaluations to determine baseline physical abilities using diagnostic tests, functional assessments, and observation.
• Overseeing and mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants in the administration of treatment protocols, ensuring adherence to care plans.
• Implementing therapeutic exercise regimens, manual therapies, and the use of assistive devices as prescribed by physicians.
• Administering modalities, such as traction and massage, to alleviate pain and enhance recovery.
• Evaluating and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices based on patient progress and collaborating with physicians on necessary modifications.
• Maintaining comprehensive clinical records, including OASIS assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Participating actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to assess and adjust care strategies, sharing insights to promote superior patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse outpatient population consisting of individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Your focus will be on equally empowering clients to regain functional independence and improve their mobility. In addition, you will evaluate home environments to make recommendations that foster patient autonomy and safety.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and a valid license to practice in New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years' experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an outpatient setting.
• Current CPR certification and maintain licensure in good standing.
• A genuine commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, and the ability to inspire patients and their families.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and engagement with clients.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, capable of adjusting treatment plans based on real-time patient feedback.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following qualifications would enhance your application:

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation or sports therapy.
• Familiarity with using electronic health record systems for documentation and patient tracking.
• A background in manual therapy techniques or specialized rehabilitation therapies.
