Locksmith Mechanic - THR Dallas - 1st Shift Job Summary Provides locksmith services with specific responsibility for the repair, alteration, installation, and keying of mechanical and electric/electronic lock systems throughout the facility. This is a first shift 7am to 3:30pm M-F schedule. Responsibilities Read blueprints and diagrams, determine materials needed, estimate time and material costs on installations, and request supplies to assure timely and adequate availability. Install, repair and maintain keys and locks. Insert new or repaired tumblers into lock to change combination. Use lock pick in cylinder to open door locks without keys. Install locks and lock systems with different hardware and carpentry methods. Maintain records, inventory for locks, keys, spare parts, tools, and equipment. Ensure proper functionality of fire door assemblies throughout the facilities. Use key cutting machine to cut new or duplicate keys. Troubleshoot and repair electronic lock systems. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma. Valid Driver’s License. 2 years of trade school or on‑job related experience (preferred). Ability to lift medium and/or heavy equipment and tools. Exposure to extreme heat, noise, dust, and dirt areas requiring infection control.
