divh2Director Of Finance/h2pLocation: Los Angeles, California 90035/ppSchedule: MondayFriday/ppEmployment Type: Full-time, onsite/ph3Position Overview/h3pThe Director of Finance will oversee and strengthen the business office and financial functions of a religious high school in Los Angeles. This position is a leadership role and must represent the centrality of the students at the school, and how every educational decision made seeks to answer the question What is best for the student? from a financial, spiritual, and educational perspective. The Director of Finance will provide leadership and oversee the direction, coordination, implementation in all areas of the Business and Human Resources office. The Business Office consists of the Administrative Coordinator, Bookkeeper and the Human Resources Specialist who report to the Director of Finance. The Director of Finance will work closely with the rest of the administration and the Finance Committee on all matters related to the Business Office. As the schools needs continue to grow, the Director of Finance will also oversee any additional support positions. In this role, the Director of Finance will serve as an ambassador for the school, consistently representing the school with professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions with stakeholders./ph3Responsibilities Include:/h3ulliDevelops and implements budgets, prepares reports for senior management and ensures the department and institution complies with company policies./liliKeeps accounting for all bank accounts./liliOversees and meets regularly with employees who process all accounts receivable and accounts payables (checks, FACTS, billing, etc.)/liliReviews AP twice a month (after entered in by bookkeeper) before checks are printed. Coordinates with the bookkeeper to enter in all ACHs directly from the bank. Keeps cash flow up to date./liliReconciles daily QuickBooks to the Bank. Enters in all FACTS, credit card and e-check deposits into QuickBooks. Keeps Cash Flow up to date to match QuickBooks./liliManages Capital expenditures./liliMaintains Petty Cash./liliOversees tenants for expenses and rent/liliOversees the monthly credit card reconciliations for all accounts and banks/liliDoes Bank Reconciliations monthly for all banks and accounts./liliProcesses all Payroll./liliManages contributions to 403b and 457b plans thru payroll/liliPrepares 1099s./liliPrepares Administrators Employee Contracts as requested by the Head of School (HOS) and oversees the staff contracts prepared by the Business Office./liliWorks with HOS to prepare the annual budget for both Divisions./liliPrepares, manages, and updates employee salaries for school wide budgets./liliManages re-registration and enrollment./liliOversees and audits Parent tuition and fees contracts entered into QuickBooks and FACTS/liliFields phone calls from parents regarding tuition and financial related matters/liliMonitors tuition payments manages delinquent accounts and collections in conjunction with HOS./liliCreates financial reports for the BJE and the Jewish Federation./liliPrepares census for Retirement Plan 5500 tax reporting/liliOversees Benefits Program and serves as liaison between Brokers and Staff./liliOversees Human Resources Specialist who does staff onboarding, I9s and staff files, staff Training./liliOversees and works directly with the financial aid committee regarding all financial aid matters. This includes attending all financial aid meetings. Manages FAST financial aid applications, financial appeals, etc. Fields parent calls and requests for additional financial aid./liliAttend Board Meetings when determined by the HOS./liliManages and oversees delinquent tuition./liliPrepares budget versus actuals for HOS on a weekly basis. Prepares department budget reports when requested from staff or HOS./liliPrepares finance reports for Board Meetings. Works closely with the Board Treasurer./liliProcesses yearly renewals for General Liability Insurance and Worker Compensation Insurance./liliPrepares documents and assists with yearly Workers Compensation Audit./liliAssists with annual audit and tax returns and all Financial Issues with the Bank and the Accountant./liliWorks with our Accountant regarding accounting issues. Performs monthly journal entries./liliManage and oversee the requirements of the business office yearly calendar./liliAssist with school events and any other business office responsibilities when requested./liliSupports school and its leadership./li/ulh3Qualifications:/h3ulliBachelors degree in accounting or finance required./liliMasters degree in accounting or finance preferred./lili5+ years of experience in a financial management role./liliExperience with QuickBooks and other accounting software./liliExperience with payroll processing and benefits administration./liliExcellent communication and interpersonal skills./liliAbility to work independently and as part of a team./liliStrong organizational and time management skills./liliCommitment to providing excellent customer service./li/ulpCompensation: $135,000-$150,000 annually plus benefits commensurate with experience/p/div
