Dean of Students

Overview As the Dean of Students, you will be at the forefront of our institution, responsible for student retention and student satisfaction. Responsibilities Student Retention and Satisfaction Maintain program completion benchmarks and strive to exceed accreditation standards where applicable (NACCAS 50% completion or COE 60% benchmark). Monitor and promote licensure exam pass rates, aiming to exceed minimum thresholds and high graduate success. Conduct Welcome to Milan pre-start orientation with enthusiasm, following company guidelines. Lead New Student Orientation for Allied Health, Cosmetology, and Barber programs. Partner with Career Services to address student issues or concerns prior to and during externships; coordinate responsibilities with Education’s oversight during externships. Maintain clean, customer-friendly facilities including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and breakrooms. Resolve student requests and concerns within 24–48 hours. Keep the Complaint Log up-to-date per company guidelines. Guide and oversee the Gold Team following policy guidelines. Assist students with Leave of Absence (LOA) requests, submitting documentation to the campus Dean of Faculty or Director as required. Process session changes and communicate with staff and faculty accordingly. Manage program withdrawals when no other options are available. Administrative Responsibilities Train with the Compliance Team and Registrar Team to follow key policies and procedures. Participate in campus staff and management meetings. Contribute to the campus Retention Meeting and follow up with students to support completion of Student Satisfactory Progress (SAP). Collaborate with the Campus Director to execute COE Occupational Advisory Committee Meetings and Institutional Advisory Committee Meetings (or NACCAS Advisory Board Meetings) annually. Prepare and submit monthly Exam Pass Rate results per the required distribution schedule. Ensure compliance with Education policies and procedures. Maintain and update the Community Resources Binder to provide immediate suggestions and support to students. Coordinate with all departments to ensure transparency and effective communication. Update and post documents at least quarterly, including the Complaint Log. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in academic administration or instructional capacity, preferably at a post-secondary institution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Passion for student success and helping students thrive. Strong organizational skills and time management. Customer-service oriented with a focus on exceeding student expectations. Experience de-escalating situations with a focus on conflict resolution. Integrity and adherence to professional and ethical standards. Alignment with the institution’s core values: accountability, integrity, growth, service, and communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting and communication. Ability to work independently and make decisions based on policy and guidelines. Strong problem-solving abilities and reliability; ability to support day and evening hours as needed.
