Associate Professor or Professor / Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for the role of Associate Professor or Professor (Tenured or Tenure‑Track) within the School of Nursing as well as for Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs (ADFA). Position Overview The position is a tenured or tenure‑track academic appointment that combines teaching, faculty development, and leadership responsibilities. The ADFA provides strategic leadership for faculty recruitment, development, support, and evaluation. Primary Responsibilities Teach nursing courses consistent with area of expertise. Collaborate with faculty in curriculum development. Utilize teaching resources such as WebCampus/Canvas to foster learning. Provide student supervision. Participate in school, university, professional and community service activities. Engage in research leading to publications in quality, refereed journals. Seek internal and external grant funds. Lead faculty recruitment, orientation, evaluation, and off‑boarding. Develop and oversee faculty workload and teaching assignments with transparency and equity. Establish course schedules for undergraduate and graduate programs. Identify and address faculty resource needs, including space allocation and budget management. Monitor course evaluation data and promote continuous program improvement. Represent the School of Nursing at university, state, regional, and national levels. Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of initiatives that strengthen the faculty experience. Minimum Qualifications Doctorate in nursing from an accredited institution. Minimum of three years of academic experience. Valid Nevada RN license or eligibility to obtain one. Record of extensive scholarly achievement for senior‑level applicants (publications, grant funding as PI). Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education, faculty development, mentoring, evaluation, and workload management. Evidence of effective collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
