Job Summary The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Catholic Medical Center is a year‑long paid program designed to transition new graduates into competent registered nurses. The program provides advanced clinical training, monthly education, preceptorship, hands‑on simulations, and mentoring from experienced nurse leaders. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in alignment with departmental and state standards. Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; identify and report changes in status. Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers; document care in the patient medical record promptly. Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and intervene as appropriate. Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve them proactively. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow‑up, translating complex medical terminology into understandable language. Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers to support an exceptional patient experience. Participate in flexible start date planning as needed. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment. Other certifications may be required during employment. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse qualification in the state.
