Experience with titrating IV drips. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a step-down unit. The nurse will provide care to patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery. Common procedures include coronary artery bypass grafting, mitral valve repair or replacement, aortic valve repair or replacement, and heart transplants. The nurse will be expected to manage patients from pre-operative through post-operative care, including transfers from the ICU. Patient ratios are typically 1:5 but may vary based on acuity. The unit cares for adult patients who have undergone various heart surgeries. The interdisciplinary support team includes physical therapy and respiratory services. Strong telemetry skills are required. The nurse will float within the service line as needed. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend. No on-call requirements for this position.
