Principal Scientist - Predictive Molecule Design

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Principal Scientist to lead computational design of small molecules, combining structure-based design and machine learning to advance drug discovery programs. Responsibilities
- Serve as lead computational scientist on small molecule project teams with accountability for program objectives
- Design and prioritize chemical matter using multi-parameter optimization for potency, selectivity, and ADME properties
- Develop, validate, and deploy predictive models and cheminformatics workflows for routine decision-making
- Integrate structural information with large-scale data analysis to advance structure-activity relationship insights
- Mentor colleagues and provide scientific leadership on emerging technologies and innovative approaches
Requirements
- Ph.D. in computational chemistry, cheminformatics, or related field with 4+ years experience
- Demonstrated expertise in both computer-aided drug design and cheminformatics/machine learning
- Track record of directly impacting small molecule discovery in biotech or pharma
- Experience with computational modeling, AI/ML, data analytics, and optimization in drug discovery
- Familiarity with diverse biological targets and therapeutic modalities
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills in multidisciplinary teams
Compensation: $166,770 - $202,086 base
