Surgical Technician - Providence Kodiak Island

Description We are hiring for a Surgical Technician position at Providence Kodiak Alaska Medical Center in Kodiak, AK. Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8‑hour day shifts, 40 hours per week. $10,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. The Surgical Technician II provides support by anticipating the needs of the surgeon and other surgical personnel by performing tasks that assist in the care and treatment of patients during the surgical process while maintaining a sterile work environment at all times. Performs decontamination of equipment and instruments and completes sterilization process. Maintains a positive and professional image when interacting with patients, their families, physicians, employees and the general public. Required Qualifications Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program accredited by CAAHEP or other program accredited by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program. Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist – National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, or Upon hire: National Tech in Surgery – Certified – National Center for Competency Testing. Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association. Operating room experience for candidates who have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology Program or have completed other accredited programs by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program. Candidates with equivalent other or at least six months of on‑the‑job clinical training must have minimum one year operating room experience scrubbing on surgical procedures. Benefits and Compensation Will receive a base salary ranging from $33.27 to $49.92 per hour. The successful candidate’s placement on the wage range will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
