Sous Chef
Location: Bridgewater, NJ
Position Overview:
The Sous Chef plays a key leadership role in kitchen operations, ensuring consistent culinary execution, food quality, and team development. This position supports the Chef in day-to-day management, culinary standards, and coordination of back-of-house operations while fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and safety.
Lead, train, and mentor culinary team members to maintain consistency and uphold company culinary guidelines.
Assist with menu execution, recipe adherence, and quality control across all stations.
Manage inventory, product rotation, and ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations at all times.
Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of kitchen staff.
Collaborate with management on labor planning, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, promoting smooth service during peak hours.
Step into the Chef’s role as needed to maintain seamless kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a high-volume, polished-casual or upscale dining environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop a diverse culinary team.
Excellent understanding of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
Ability to stay organized and perform well under pressure.
ServSafe or similar certification preferred.
