CNC OperatorHours: (full-time, 40 hrs/wk) M-Th, 8 am – 5 pm | Fr, 8 am – 2:30 pm (regular OT expected included weekends as needed) Location: This position is located in Albany, NY – onsite work is required Pay Range: $23 - $30 Individual compensation is based on various factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. See our groundbreaking work on our websites.The CNC Operator at Digifabshop is responsible for the setup and operation of our CNC milling machines.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Moves workpieces onto work tables either manually or with vacuum liftControls automatic tool changes and performs manual tool changes as necessary on CNC RoutersVerifies conformance of milled work to specifications using visual inspection and measuring instrumentsStudies milling instructions, job orders, and shop drawings to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirementsSelects and sets cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to milling instructions and material knowledgeObserves CNC machine operations to detect any problemsAssists with related non-CNC work tasks as necessaryPerforms all tasks in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with OSHA industry standardsNecessary Skills:Ability to use basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to solve problems as well as a working knowledge of fractions, decimals, and standard-to-metric conversionsAbility to watch gauges, dials, screens, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properlyAbility to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documentsAbility to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performanceAbility to give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriatePhysical Requirements:Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one positionManual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, inspect, or assemble objectsControlled Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the settings/controls of a machine to exact positionsNear Vision - The ability to identify details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objectsOral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesMaintain Stationary Position – The ability to stand continuously for up to 2 hours at a time on a regular basisHeavy Lifting – The ability to lift up to 51lbs frequently and repeatedlyWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, fumes, and loud noises.
