Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading individualized physical therapy interventions aimed at restoring mobility, alleviating pain, and preventing further disability.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of clients to assess physical function, including muscle strength, joint range of motion, and functional mobility.
• Developing, implementing, and modifying personalized treatment plans in accordance with physician directives, based on ongoing assessments and client progress.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants in the delivery of care, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and regulatory standards.
• Administering manual therapies, therapeutic exercises, traction, and other modalities to facilitate recovery.
• Assessing clients' home environments to make recommendations that support rehabilitation and independence.
• Tracking and documenting client progress meticulously in clinical records, including evaluations and treatment plans, while complying with federal and state regulations.
• Participating in care team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and collaborate on treatment strategies.
• Providing education to clients and their families regarding the physical therapy process and home care strategies to maximize recovery.
• Responding promptly to changes in clients' conditions and adjusting care plans as needed, communicating effectively with physicians and case managers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve orthopedic patients requiring rehabilitative care after surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain conditions. This demographic includes individuals of all ages, from athletes recovering from sports injuries to elderly patients recuperating from procedures such as joint replacements. Your objective is to develop tailored approaches that consider each patient's unique circumstances and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid physical therapy license in good standing for the state of New Jersey.
• Current certification in CPR.
• Strong capacity for decision-making and a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, families, and team members.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and familiarity with regulatory requirements.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience in physical therapy, preferably in acute care or home health settings, is required, candidates with a background in outpatient orthopedic therapy are highly preferred. Experience with rehabilitation technologies and modalities will be considered a strong asset.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive yearly salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
