Billing Specialist

We are seeking a Billing Specialist for our location in New Albany, IN. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, with an emphasis on accounting preferred. Job Summary Under close supervision and guidance, processes invoices and bills customers in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with well-defined procedures. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Collect and verify necessary documentation to accurately prepare invoices for customers, including sales invoices, freight costs, and sales taxes. Input data and billing information into the billing system while ensuring accuracy. Research and provide specific information regarding invoicing and customer accounts, such as account status, change orders, costs, and inquiry responses. Perform basic clerical duties including sorting, filing, and mailing invoices to customers. Run daily reports and perform other duties as assigned. Other (Non-Essential) Functions Perform other duties as assigned or required. Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions General office environment; may spend short periods in manufacturing areas with exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, and temperature variations. Occasional exposure to unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Requirements The minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent. Proficient understanding of accounting principles. 1–3 years of relevant work experience. Ability to read, interpret, and create correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations. Advanced mathematical skills, including basic algebra and geometry. General office computer and calculator skills.
