Pay: $33.50 per hour

Summary:


This role is responsible for preparing statutory financial reports, including quarterly and annual statements for external stakeholders. The position also manages state regulatory reporting for multiple insurance entities. Responsibilities include interpreting regulatory requirements, analyzing financial data, preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.


Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit statutory quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Complete quarterly and annual state reporting for multiple insurance companies.
• Research and interpret state regulations and ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.
• Perform detailed financial analysis to support reporting and identify variances.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to reporting activities.
• Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage Plan-to-Plan (P2P) payments, including tracking and recording activity.
• Process monthly, quarterly, and annual state assessment payments.
• Maintain and update the state reporting database, ensuring accurate tracking of assessments.
• Prepare check requests and coordinate payments to external vendors/providers.
• Perform monthly intercompany settlements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather required data and resolve escalated issues.
• Support ad hoc projects and process improvements as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting or financial reporting experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in interpreting financial reports and regulatory requirements.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to clarity and accuracy.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with account reconciliations, including variance analysis and resolution.
