Accounting Clerk (White Plains)

Put your career into high gear with Mavis Tire! We're looking for full-time Accounting Clerks to join Team Mavis at our Operations Support Center in White Plains, New York. With over 4,000 retail locations, Mavis is the largest independently-held tire sales and automotive repair chain in the United States.

Position Summary

At Mavis, our Accounting Clerk support the accuracy and integrity of daily cash activity across our retail locations. This position is responsible for monitoring cash transactions, reconciling cash receipts with sales records, identifying and researching discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial documentation. Accounting Clerk work closely with store operations and internal departments to resolve cash-related issues and ensure transactions are properly recorded and reported.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in a fast-paced, high-volume environment are essential for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Monitoring and tracking daily cash activity across retail locations;

· Assisting with cash reconciliations and identifying discrepancies or variances;

· Reviewing cash reports and supporting timely and accurate financial reporting;

· Investigating cash shortages, overages, and irregularities and documenting findings;

· Maintaining accurate records and audit-ready documentation related to cash activity;

· Utilizing Excel to analyze data, create reports, and support reconciliations;

· Assisting with audits, reporting, and special cash management projects as assigned; and

· Escalating unresolved or complex cash issues to management when appropriate.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of Accounting Clerk, you must (1) be at least 18 years of age; (2) be legally authorized to work in the United States; (3)have the ability to balance numerous and varied tasks simultaneously, (4) possess 1 year of record-keeping and/or data entry experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment; and (5) possess a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
