Our store is hiring for a potential floor manager. We appreciate you taking the time to review the list of qualifications and to apply for the position. If you don't fill all of the qualifications, you may still be considered depending on your level of experience. We are hiring a hands-on Floor Manager for our Japanese grocery store in New York. You will lead the store team, manage stock and vendor orders, handle daily floor operations, and drive sales targets. Retail experience and an interest in Japanese cuisine are highly valued.

Essential Duties

• Hands on approach to developing the store customer experience
• Utilising reporting tools available to shape commercial decisions which will benefit the customer and store
• Managing the floor and whole store environment through consistent presence to ensure it represents our brand, complying with our rules/time table effectively maintenance stocking items or taking care of any malfunction of our equipments
• Driving the team to achieve and exceed the sales targets
• Working with other managers to manage the performance and development of team members
• Maintaining professional, technical and challenging knowledge of product and customer service including cooking or Japanese Grocery, and educating the store team on this.
• Manage and make all staffs' working schedule every month
• Be aware of trends and propose ideas to build the range and quality of customer service and store sales
• Provide effective leadership and work together with the members to the operation team to ensure targets
• Communicating with vendors to place an order and take care of malfunction
• Taking care of delivery almost every day including carrying something heavy, using the stairs, using knives, and stocking to the shelves
• Keep clean and organize the store and stocks including inside the fridge and freezer.
• Taking care of customers including dealing with their complaints and taking phone calls by following our policy.

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10:00-18:00

Wednesday and Saturday: 11:00-20:00

Qualifications

• More than 1 year of professional experience in a similar role in retail sector (Preferred)
• More than 1 year of experience as both a customer service and stocker in similar retail
• Knowledge or interest in Japanese Foods
• Knowledge of merchandising - how to place an order, to control the stocks and to display products for customer experience and sales expansion
• Having common sense for handling foods
• Food handler certification (Preferred)
• English level to communicate with others to follow this job description
• PC skills (Windows, Excel, Power Point, E-mail), Strong sense of system (JKRETAIL/Other Order Form on online)
• Good with numbers (Handling Sales Report etc)
